July29th Sunrise Sandia Mountains

An unbelievable sunrise came upon me on July 29th of 2021 around 6:18 am, when I was out in my backyard with my Bunny.  At first when I looked at the photo reference I took that morning, I thought, nobody would believe that this is the real sky with those colors and shapes.  But I went ahead and painted my interpretation of what I saw that morning.  At first I thought I am not going to like this painting.  But after I completed it and looked at it with fresh eyes several days later, I thought, boy I think I like this painting.  I love the colors and the big shape contrasts.  The deep blue sky against the reds and oranges somehow harmonizes with the yellow sky with the sun bursting forth.  This is part of my Sandia Sunrise Series.
